Welcome to the Larry L. Hillblom Foundation (LLHF) Grant Management System!   Starting with the 2006 grant application cycle, all applicants for funding must use this online system to submit applications and progress reports to the foundation.  The main LLHF web site (http://www.llhf.org) remains the primary web site for information about the foundation.


Year 2009 Funding Status (effective September 30, 2008)

In calendar year 2009, the Larry L. Hillblom Foundation anticipates that it will fund and monitor fourteen to sixteen on going Network Grants and more than forty Start-Up and Fellowship Grants. The budgetary constraints resulting from supporting these on going grants preclude the Foundation from accepting applications for new Network, Start-Up or Fellowship grants for the 2009 funding cycle. Please visit our website in September 2009 for information regarding funding opportunities for our January 2010 grant cycle.

The Hillblom Foundation is pleased to continue supporting the many extraordinary research scientists in the State of California through previously funded grant applications.

Preparing and Submitting a Grant Application

  1. Please review the Introduction and Grant Criteria pages on the main LLHF web site.
  2. Next review the Instructions section of this site.
  3. Prepare your grant application using the form templates and grant instructions provided. 
  4. Create an account on this system, or log in with your existing account. The Foundation requires that this account be created using the name and email address of the principal investigator.
  5. Follow the online instructions to upload and submit your application online.


Preparing and Submitting a Progress Report

  1. Review the Instructions section of this site.
  2. Prepare your progress report using the form templates and instructions provided.
  3. Wait for the Foundation Administrator to send your user account information via email.
  4. Follow the online instructions to upload and submit your progress report online.


Online Assistance

This site features a comprehensive online help system (always located on the right hand side of the page) that provides access to detailed, step-by-step instructions that describe how to use the Grant Management System.

Submission Deadlines

Start-Up, Fellowship and Network LOI applications are due on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 4:00 PM PST and will receive funding decisions from the foundation in June 2008.

Applicants for Network Grants who have submitted a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) and have received an invitation from the foundation to complete a full Network Grant application must submit their application by Friday, August 15, 2008 at 4:00 PM PDT.

Progress reports can be submitted starting Friday, August 1, 2008 and they will be due on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 4:00 PM PDT.
